The “modern farmhouse” style is popular right now (thanks Chip and Joanna), we think it’s because the style perfectly mixes new with weathered and old looking pieces. Typically when we work with this style, we shop for accessories that are new but have a vintage-inspired look – but that wasn’t the case with this Gretna client!

She loves to go antiquing and has collected several unique pieces from over the years (vintage cameras, wire baskets, milk cans, crock jars, etc.)  which made styling even more fun.

Our client had also inherited her grandmother’s dining set which was looking a little lifeless in the bare room. We wanted to work with the existing pieces but make the room feel updated and intentional. Here’s what things looked like when first viewed the space:

By adding in a new pair of head chairs, a rug, and chandelier we gave the table an updated look while keeping the charm of the pieces. With a few simple accessories and a magnolia wreath hung over the mirror, we updated the buffet as well. Voila!

Another personalized element? While antiquing, she found a plot map of Sarpy county (where she lives) so we picked our 4 favorites and had them framed for the dining room.

At Fluff we love working with elements that feel personalized to you. Whether that’s making sure we include a few frames for family photos or working with your grandmother’s dining set, we want the house to feel like a reflection of YOU!
