It is always such a pleasure to work with a repeat client who knows what she wants and trusts the Fluff process.  After working on this client’s living room last year, we were excited to get the call letting us know the dining room was next – music to our ears!

At our initial consultation we discussed a light and fresh color palette, including soft teals and grays.  So, our first order of business was to remove both the outdated wallpaper and the oak chair rail.  The decision to remove the chair rail was made to eliminate the division in the wall since the ceiling height in the room was only eight feet high.

We chose a great, neutral paint color, Alpaca by Sherwin Williams, as a backdrop for an extra-large (70” x 48” to be exact) oil canvas from a trusted Fluff vendor.  This abstract art piece was surely a wow due to its size and various colors.

Next, we addressed the existing solid oak buffet and hutch.  It was useful to our client for storage and display, and, yet, felt heavy and overbearing for the size of room.  Our solution…. remove the top hutch, paint the bottom buffet a crazy cool color (Drizzle by Sherwin Williams), and change out the brass hardware.

The result was our favorite design element in the finished space – a beautiful pop of color that also serves as storage and an anchor to a unique metal mirror!

Replacing old, wood dining chairs with a mixture of creamy, leather side chairs and upholstered gray captains chairs gave the room a “collected over time” look.  Simple curtain panels with a subtle pattern, a gray linen drum shade chandelier, and strategically placed large-scale accessories complete this dining room look.

Our repeat client loves her new space – she could not decide whether to invite friends over for dinner or sit and stare at her newly designed dining room!
